How Durable Is Your Fire Safety Signage - NovaDura

One of our significant market sectors is that of safety signs, with every work place in the UK having legal obligations for compulsory fire exit signage.

Correct egress signage allows people to easily find their way out by the shortest route in the event of an emergency. ‘Down’ arrows indicate the nearest exit down and likewise subsequent arrows should point people to the nearest sign/exit at each change of direction and by the quickest route. Possibly something overlooked in the selection of Fire Signage is the ‘Fire performance’ of the sign itself and that’s where NovaDura scores significantly over conventional rigid PVC, vinyl laminated Aluminium /ACM or Foamex.

NovaDura Signage meets the following accreditation with respect to Fire Performance:

  • Reaction to Fire BS EN 13501-2 :2016 – complies with the requirements Classes B, dO,
  • Passes BS 476-6:1989+A1:2009 (Class O) and BS 476-7 :1997 (Class 1) for Surface Spread of Flame and Fire Propagation.
  • Conforms to BS EN 45545 -1:2013 for the protection of passengers and staff in railway vehicles in the event of a fire on passenger carrying trains
  • Satisfies the demanding requirements of Transport For London/London Underground Ltd; S1085: Issue A4: 2016 for Fire Safety Performance of Materials in Rail Stations and Tunnels Infrastructure.
