On the back of the success with our bespoke woodgrain finishes, NovaDura have now launched a new range of bespoke textures in our reproDURA product range.
Numerous bespoke products are now readily available that replicate; brass/copper patination effects, stone, marble, granite or alternatively any bespoke custom digital image provided can be considered.
The Process…..
Utilising high definition decorative polyurethane based powders and the coating of aluminium with subsequent print decoration, reproDURA™ is a totally bespoke service offering digital reproduction of a digital image onto an aluminium surface.
Using sublimation technology, whereby the required design is printed onto a non-porous film carrier, the desired image is transferred using a combination of heat and pressure.
The PU based powders provide the protection against wear, abrasion, impact and corrosion and also acts as base colour for the final printed image.
This is the key difference between conventional direct print and sublimation print, where the ink is turned into a gas and then back to a solid again but penetrates the whole of the coating layer.
This provides a printed image that is not purely a surface finish and the depth of penetration, circa 80 micron, ensures that any scuffs or scratches will not be shown as a white line or bare metal.
