To design and manufacture an interpretation panel that communicates the history and wildlife of Buckholt Wood to visitors.
The panel needed to present engaging, accessible information in both Welsh and English, ensuring inclusivity while enhancing understanding of the woodland’s heritage and natural environment.
The interpretation panel needed to deliver clear, engaging information suitable for visitors of all ages, combining strong imagery, concise bilingual text and a QR code to encourage further exploration. Installed within a natural woodland environment, the signage also faced unique physical challenges. Regular interaction from wildlife, including wild boar and deer, meant the structure required robust mounting and long-term durability. In addition to environmental exposure, the panel needed to resist impact, abrasion and ongoing outdoor weathering, ensuring it remained legible, scannable and visually appealing over time.
NOVADURA specified primaDURA aluminium, selected for its exceptional durability and anti-vandal performance. The panel was produced using high-quality artwork reproduction to ensure clarity of imagery and crisp bilingual text, while maintaining full QR code scannability for digital engagement. A specialist protective topcoat enhances resistance to scratching, abrasion and environmental wear, helping preserve colour vibrancy and legibility in an exposed woodland setting. The panel was engineered with integrated fixing points for secure mounting to heavy-duty posts, providing structural strength capable of withstanding wildlife interaction as well as long-term outdoor exposure. The result is a robust, low-maintenance interpretive installation that supports education, inclusivity and engagement, designed to perform reliably within a demanding natural environment.
