NOVADURA were thrilled to be approached by Lakeside Signs for an exciting project at the newly developed Haven Skegness Holiday Park. The goal was to deliver attractive, durable, and cost-effective signage that captured both the aesthetic and practical needs of a modern holiday destination.
From Concept to Collaboration
The initial brief was to replicate the look of aged larch using flat aluminium plate and posts. To support the design process, we provided a curated selection of Decoral samples to help the client visualise the possibilities. After selecting their preferred wood-effect finish, the vision evolved into something bolder: a dual-tone sign combining natural texture with solid blue, finished with sharp white waymarking text for maximum clarity and contrast.
This shift in direction led to the development of a full mock-up using reproDURA — NOVADURA’s ultra-durable, sublimated signage solution. The creative journey didn’t stop there…
Every element was carefully tailored to the unique requirements of the holiday park. Wood-effect posts featured sublimated colour bands, each meticulously RAL-matched to ensure consistency across the park’s zoned wayfinding system.
As the planning progressed, the design requirements became more ambitious. The client requested:
This complex set of requirements meant rethinking the approach to materials and production techniques.
We identified early on that sublimation printing (as used in reproDURA) isn’t ideal for large, flat areas of solid colour. To overcome this, we proposed a hybrid solution combining primaDURA (ideal for high-definition solid colour graphics) with reproDURA (perfect for authentic wood grain effects).

Throughout the project, we worked in close partnership with Lakeside Signs to flawlessly blend our finishes into their fabrication process. Where required, signage components were reconfigured into modular kits—enhancing on-site flexibility, streamlining installation, and maintaining cost-efficiency.
