NOVADURA worked with Dragon Bench to supply durable printed panels for a range of heated outdoor seating solutions installed along Brighton Seafront.
The project centred on the development of heated outdoor seating for bars, restaurants, hotels and hospitality-led outdoor spaces, combining contemporary design with energy-efficient heating technology.
The seating combines contemporary design with advanced heating technology, delivering warmth through conduction heat transfer. This approach ensures minimal heat loss to the surrounding environment, resulting in significantly lower energy consumption and running costs, up to four times more efficient than electric radiant heaters and around twenty times more efficient than gas patio heaters.
The challenge was to integrate a durable, visually strong panel solution capable of performing reliably in a highly exposed coastal environment, while supporting a product designed to extend outdoor use year-round and deliver clear environmental and commercial benefits.
Installing heated street furniture along a coastal seafront location introduced a demanding set of performance requirements.
Positioned in a highly exposed environment, the seating needed to withstand salt air, wind-driven rain, UV exposure, and temperature fluctuations without compromising appearance or functionality.
Beyond environmental durability, the finish also had to integrate seamlessly with a technically advanced product. The seating incorporated heating technology, requiring panel materials capable of maintaining appearance, stability and long-term performance alongside controlled heat output.
