The Brief

NOVADURA partnered with EKO (formerly Eskimo Design) to enhance the finish of its RON and Leggy RON column radiator ranges – precision-engineered, modular heating solutions designed for specification-led residential and commercial projects.

With flexible configurations ranging from 1 to 50 column sections and multiple height options, the modular format allows components to be finished prior to final assembly. EKO sought a specialist finish that would complement the industrial aesthetic of the range while delivering long-term durability suitable for premium architectural environments.

The objective was clear: elevate the visual impact of the product without compromising performance.

The Challenge

The selected finish needed to:

  • Deliver a premium, design-led architectural appearance
  • Withstand handling during production and assembly
  • Maintain consistency across multiple modular configurations
  • Offer durability suitable for high-use residential and commercial spaces
  • Integrate seamlessly into an established manufacturing process

Standard powder coating alone could not achieve the distinctive material effects or depth of character required for selected finishes. A solution was needed that combined decorative impact with engineered resilience.

The Solution

NOVADURA applied its specialist Decoral sublimation print technology to the powder-coated radiator components.

Unlike surface-applied decorative films, sublimation transfers pigment directly into the powder coating layer to a depth of up to 80 microns. The result is a finish that is:

  • Highly durable
  • Scratch resistant
  • Colour stable
  • Architecturally robust

For the RON range, EKO selected three specialist finishes: Antique, Copper Pipe and Shipyard, reinforcing the industrial heritage aesthetic while ensuring long-term performance.

Decoral technology also enables the replication of woodgrain, marble, Corten steel and other natural material effects across aluminium, steel and Zintec substrates, offering manufacturers significant creative flexibility without sacrificing durability.

By combining precision engineering with advanced decorative finishing, EKO has enhanced product differentiation, strengthened architectural appeal and delivered consistent quality across its modular range.

This collaboration demonstrates how early alignment between manufacturing and finishing expertise can significantly elevate product value, delivering performance-led design without compromise.
